HOW DOES CAR PAINTING TAKE PLACE AT THE PERFECTION 86 WORKSHOP?

Although each project is unique, all standard paint jobs consist of some or all of these steps. Let's see how car painting is done in a standard situation in our workshop step by step.

  1. Dismantling
If necessary, the individual parts are removed from the car and disassembled so that they can be fully painted.
  2. Damaged surface treatment
The orginal layer of paint is sanded off and, if necessary, so is rust. Damaged panels can also be welded. If there is a dent on the panel, it is fixed by pulling it out and straightened as much as possible to minimize the need for putty.
  3. Puttying and leveling the surface
This is one of the most important steps in the preparation process. The damaged area is puttyed and carefully sanded to completely smooth out all defects and guarantee a perfectly prepared surface.

4. Applying the primer
The most suitable primer for the given surface type is selected. The primer is applied to the car body in several layers.
5. Finding the right color
If you want, we will paint the car in any color you choose. However, if we stick to the original color, the correct color will be found according to the code determined by the car manufacturer, and the best application method will also be chosen.

6. Applying the paint
The paint is applied in several layers on the freshly prepared surface. A time period is noted between the application of layers to avoid bleeding of the paint. In total, the paint is applied in 3-4 layers.
7. Applying the clear coat
Clear coat is applied over the new paint. Just as it was with car paint, the required amount of time between coats is noted to avoid bleeding.
8. Polishing the painted surface
If necessary, the painted surface is also polished.
